How to Use SmartBox 3.0 as a J2534 Reprogramming Tool?

1. Download the OEM software in Automakers’ Service Webs to your computer. You can reach us to get the website.
2. Download and install the drivers for SmartBox 3.0 at the LAUNCH official site. Below is the link: https://eninfo.x431.com/prod_view.aspx?TypeId=68&Id=505&FId=t3:68:3. After you enter the website, please click "Tool download", then you will find it. If you can not visit the website, please reach us and we will send it to you directly.
3. Connect the SmartBox 3.0 to your computer with the included USB cable, or via the stable and solid 5G Wi-Fi network.
4. Connect the SmartBox 3.0 to your vehicle’s DLC port with/without the included extended OBDII cable.
5. Run “SmartBox Tool 3.0” and there you go.

Warm Tip: the J2534 tool is only compatible with Windows-based computers yet.

PAD VII has better hardware, larger RAM ROM.
X431 Pro5 newly add BMW and Benz online programming in 2023, but only do BMW and Benz (How to activate Pro5 online programming), PAD VII will do online programming for more brands, Jaguar, Nissan, Renault, Land rover, Subaru, Hyundai, Infiniti, Kia, Porsche.
PAD VII will do VW, Audi online Parameterization and Renault online coding, Pro5 cannot.
They have similar add-on modules, PAD VII supports additional Endoscope and Oscilloscope add-on, Pro5 does not.
X-431 Fix database has added to the X-431 PAD VII global version device, Pro5 does not.
Pro5 yearly subscription is cheaper than PAD 7.

Review 1: Much powerful than snap-on scanners!
Have been using the x431 pro5 for several weeks. Amazing number of vehicles covered from around the world.I tried this LAUNCH tool on most of cars (such as Jeep, Cadillac, Buick, GM Ford. etc.) and it read more data than the old snap-on scanner that I used to own. The other day I was able to diagnose and fix a 2004 BMW 525 by clearing and programming the computer
module for my customer.He was very grateful that I saved thousands for him by not taking it to
the dealer. Its powerful functions pay for themselves many times over! Just Great!

Review 2: Smart choice ! This launch top scan tool is a bit expensive , but you'll get much more benefits than what you paid for . In our busy pro workshop , it carries out various important tasks both diagnostics and maintenance services on many autos . Sometimes , I also used this advanced scanner to earn money by repairing cars for friends or neighbors . From module programming and coding to the system diagnostics , the launch pro5 allows you to handle every car problem easily . e.g. Cleared the p0172 code easily , bi - directionally activate the fuel pump on a GM , and reset the throttle position back to the factory setting ...

Review 3: This car scanner is awesome and it comes with a variety of adaptors for different makes and models. Not to mention the customer service is top notch as well. As a mechanic for more than 20 years, I always needed a professional scanner for the cars and trucks I work on. This Launch scanner works really well on Honda, Ford, Mercedes.. you name it. I had a small issue hooking it up on a truck I was working on the first time I used the scanner but the technical support got it all sorted out in no time. I was pleased with the experience and this product.

Review 4: Launch X431 pro5 been good with communicating with all make and models and compatible with 12V/24V vehicles, I changed a faulty control unit of the driver door module for my Audi A4L 2011,and the faulty code shwed up. I followed the instruction on the tablet to finish the online coding, and the code cleared quickly. really love this diagnostic tablet scanner. It also saves all diagonstic records and that function makes dealers better organize their diagnostic results.

Review 5: Launch X431 Pro5 has all the fantastic functions X431 V+hassuch as ECU coding,bi-directional control, guided function,reset servicesetc,and the operating speed is even more swift.
The coolest new feature of X431 PRO5 is the SmartLink Box which allows for j2534 ECU programming.We successfully complete the programming after we change the engine assembly for a Benz E200 2017.
Have to say the operation is super easy to handle.I tested it with about 10 vehicles from different brands and so far so good.
