In a word, if you only need a basic auto version, KT200 ECU programmer is good for you.
If you need a higher quality ECU programmer, FoxFlash ECU programmer is better to choose. It comes with the latest firmware and updates, and also uses better quality BOM and PCB than other tools. Moreover, it provides far better servers with VR supply, more stable and reliable.
foxFlash vs PCMtuner
They both serve the same purpose.
PCMTuner flash consists of 60 modules for individual ECUS mostly OBD. It can do BSL and bench on a select Few. Foxflash covers Hundreds of Manufacturer ECU’s and TCU’s in OBD, BENCH, BOOT, BDM/JTAG. It is a much more powerful tool.
They both are good tools but in different ways. PCMtuner has a lot of obd modules for Asian etc, but cannot do any BDM Jtag work or Agri and plant like foxflash.
Foxflash has more new protocols and with the possibility of reading TCUs than pcm. But it does not have tuner account and tuning service for tuners.
Each tool has their own capabilities, no all tools can do read/write perfectly. Buy both, PCMtuner has very good coverage but can only do certain bench jobs (edc17/med17/mev17) and limited boot. It depends on your needs, no one tool is ever enough. The 2 machines are complemented. The more tools, the more work you can perform.
Foxflash FAQs:
1. Installed FoxFlash software on win11pro, activated via fox flash manager program The app keeps flying out. Any solution?
Solution:
You must run the foxflash manager (Keep Foxflash manager open, do not close), then shut down your laptop auto time sync button, then click active as activated, then go running fox
2. I failed to run FoxFlash Manager on win7 64bit, it says unable to connect server.
Solution: Download Win7 system patch to fix it.
3. Error cannot find dbf2xx.dll, re-install this application
Solution:
For 64bit system, Press "Install driver" to install driver.
For 32bit system, driver is not installed completely.
Go to FoxFlash/DFBTech_DRIVER/amd64 folder, copy and paste all files in this folder to C:/Windows/SysWOW64 folder
Better on 64bit system.
4. I have installed Foxflash software but not connect. Why is the Foxflash select driver not activating?

5. FoxFlash Error Occurred While Downloading File?
Solution:
First of all, make sure your email address is correct.
If you have problems downloading update/documents within FoxFlash manager app i.e. it stops midway, try install the following patches dependant on your windows environment.
For both Win7 32bit and 64bit.
