Summary:

1. Software inception and protection
Launch x431 is built the inception on the VCI so if you lose the VCI then you must buy one and shift the account to it. And if you lose that tablet then you just have to buy the tablet and log in your user name and password.

Autel built the software inception on the tablet, so if you lost the tablet then all lost and if you lost the VCI, then easily you might buy the VCI.

2. Update Cost
Autel Update Cost is expensive over Launch which is reasonable in update cost.

3. Additional equipment added to the device
Launch allows you to add key programming while autel don’t have this option and you need to buy stand alone device.
If you need Autel device has both scanning and key programming, go for IM608.

Launch X-431 PAD 7 allows you to add TPMS TGGUN that can program the TPMS sensors while Autel don’t have the option to add this device and you need to buy stand-alone
TPMS tool like TS508 or ITS600.
We need to mention here that some models of Autel has the TPMS function built-inside, like MaxiPro MP808TS, Maxicheck MX808TS.
Both Launch and Autel allow you to add videoscope camera and battery tester.

4. Key Programming tool
Autel is more advanced and better when it comes to key programming. But need MaxiIM tablet but no MSUltra.

5. TPMS sensor programming and re-learn
Autel is better than Launch. But need stand alone TPMS scanner of Autel.

6. Price level:
Autel is more expensive than Launch.

7. Reports
Both give the user the scanning report but Autel Ultra have cloud base that gives you the option to download the report easily.

8. Heavy duty scanner
Launch heavy duty add-on is better, cheaper and easier to use than MaxiSys CV.
Autel has the option to buy only stand alone device while launch allow to add the heavy duty module.

9. Region
Launch is better for European, Korean and Japanese cars, while Autel is better for American cars.

10. Others
Online Programming function has not been authorized in Portugal and Spain (Autel Ultra is recommended).

Autel Ultra Update Log

Autel MaxiSys Ultra is the updated version of MK908P/MS908P/Elite/MS909/MS919. It’s an all-in-one comprehensive scanner with 5-in-1 VCMI, advanced programming and coding function and 36+ service functions for large repair workshops, and supports wider vehicle coverage for 99.99% makes in the market (No IP Limit). In particular, it supports some new 2021 &2022 car models including GM, Toyota, VW, JLR, Nissan and BMW.

GM:
1.Adds ECU Information, Read Codes, Erase Codes, Live Data, Active Test, and Special Function for 33 models in 2022 including Cadillac CT4, Buick Envision, and Chevrolet Blazer.
2.Adds 5 hot special functions: Automatic Start/Stop, Transport Mode, A/C, Rain/Light Sensor, and EGR.

Toyota:
1.Adds basic functions for 41 models in 2021 (including Yaris, and 4Runner), and 9 models in 2022 (including Corolla, and Hilux).

BMW:

Autel Ultra Review:

Review 1: I’ve had many scanners and scopes. But the Autel ultra is the best… hands down. The scope is fantastic and so easy to set up and use! The large tablet and screen is like no other. I’ve been with BMW the last 18 years and the software is very similar to OEM software in some respects which makes it very easy to use.

This has been designed to be completely intuitive to use and it’sa must for every shop including dealerships!

Review 2: Using the device is orgasmic, I feel that I am a better person because of it. I found a new wife, my business is thriving, my son is getting better grades in school, all because of this purchase. I use it all the time. At work, in the shower, getting ready for work, in bed ---ALL THE TIME.

Review 3: I purchased this to replace my Autel elite, it has everything in a bundle, yes there are still items and test devices you have to purchase, but the scanner is amazing.I run an independent repair facility and do alot of coding and reprogramming, I do alot of electrical due to our newer cars sensors- the scope ,wave generator lets you test and basically lie to car that a good sensor is active to help in diagnostics.

Review 4: I’ve used the so called leading brands but find the Autel to be very competitive. Price point may seem high but when you have the satisfaction of getting the job done it’s well worth it. The other brands are very pricey over Autel but not in any way superior. I recommend the Autel Ultra over the other brands for both the pros and DIY guys. Thank you Autel for a cost effective product that simplifies my life.
